European student competition 2021: Bioeconomic innovation in focus
Danish students are again this year encouraged to form interdisciplinary teams and participate in BISC-E, the Biobased Innovation Student Challenge Europe. The Danish winner will compete with the winners from other EU countries to win the European championship and price.
The European student competition in bioeconomy, BISC-E, will be held again this year. The competition will encourage students to work with innovative solutions within recirculation of biological resources and the development of bio-based products and processes.
BISC-E is a competition, where students initially compete with other national teams by developing a bio-based product or process. The students have to present their ideas to a jury of experts from industry and science. The presentation has to be accompanied by a few supporting documents explaining sustainability, technical feasibility and economic viability of the innovation. The Danish winner will represent Denmark in the European final - hopefully in Brussels. This is arranged by BIC – Biobased Industries Consortium, which includes some of the largest biobased industries in Europe.
The challenge is open for students of university of applied sciences and university students (BSc and MSc). It is recommended to embody multiple disciplines in the team.
