Why you should become a member 

Becoming a CBIO member means joining an extensive network of individuals who are passionate about circular bioeconomy. As a member, you'll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded students and researchers from eight research departments at Aarhus University, and external partners from various industries and organizations. Through exclusive meetings, networking events, webinars, tours, visits and much more, you can expand your professional and academic horizons while building valuable connections. Together, we foster interdisciplinary collaborations in research and innovation within the circular bioeconomy, driving impactful outcomes within the green transition.

As a CBIO member, you will gain:

For CBIO members at Aarhus University only:

  • Invitation to the annual CBIO SUMMIT

  • Report relevant projects to CBIO and be listed on the CBIO web-site

CBIO Financial Support for AU Members, who are Master- and PhD students or Postdocs at Aarhus University

Types of funding available

CBIO offers limited financial support to AU CBIO members, who are Master- and PhD students and Postdocs at Aarhus University, for organizing or participating in interdisciplinary activities, such as meetings, courses, summer schools, conferences, and similar events. Funding is allocated on a first-come and first-served basis for eligible applications.

How to apply

To apply for financial support, please send an email to Margrethe Balling Høstgaard, Business and International Coordinator, at margrethe.hostgaard@dca.au.dk with your application. 

Your application must include:

  • Your name and department
  • The amount requested (up to approximately 25,000 DKK)
  • Type of activity (e.g., meetings, courses, summer schools, conferences)
  • Date when the funds will be used (must be in 2024)
  • A brief description of the interdisciplinary nature of the activity and potential collaboration partners

Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed, and you will be informed about the status of your funding, including when and how it will be disbursed.

We still have some budget left for 2024 – so you are welcome to send your application before 1st of November – as the support is for activities this year.

Who can become a CBIO member

CBIO offers opportunities for two types of members:

  • Aarhus University Members: Whether you're a student or a researcher at AU, CBIO welcomes you to become part of our network. 

  • External Members: If you're part of an industrial organization with a keen interest in circular bioeconomy, CBIO invites you to join as an external member.
