Through my interdisciplinary, untargeted metabolomics analysis background, I have established international collaborations through recent projects, which have led to new advances in different areas. I am actively collaborating with researchers at AU ECOS to explore the nutritional and functional properties of seaweed, and with industry partners such as Maripure and OceanRainforest to develop sustainable seaweed-based feed solutions.
Liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry (LC-QTOF-MS) analysis; multivariate analysis of large data sets.
Untargeted metabolomics analysis techniques in plasma/serum, urine, tissues, fecal material, saliva, terrestrial and aquatic plant material.
Research in animal nutrition and health. Background in swine models for metabolic and infectious diseases, with expertise in nutrient-based interventions to mitigate diseases in production. Currently: metabolism of anti-methane feed additives in cattle.
