Søren Krogh Jensen is a professor in "Animal Food Production in Circular Bioeconomy" and has researched for more than 35 years on the interaction between processing plants for feed and its impact on the nutritional value of protein, fat, carbohydrates, and vitamins across animal species.
The research area includes sustainable feed sources, nutrient metabolism, vitamin and fatty acid metabolism, biohydrogenation, and excretion in milk in both ruminants and monogastric animals.
The research focuses on animal nutrition but also includes effects on animal health, the quality of animal products, and the circularity of nutrient and resource flows. Furthermore Søren Krogh Jensen also possesses the necessary analytical expertise and has access to excellent laboratory facilities. He leads the department’s initiative on bioeconomy and biorefining of green plants and is a member of the steering committee for the Center for Circular Bioeconomy.
